Appetizers are great -- we rarely ordered an actual meal. This is a great resort bar/restaurant and is well liked by the locals. They serve the best calamari I've ever had. We shut the bar down many a night.

Excellent restaurant where you can choose to eat in the upscale restaurant upstairs (dressy) or the casual pub downstairs. Go see the Marriott Hotel after.

We went to Duke's often to enjoy the different fish dishes. My husband loved the fish taco specials. Each member of our party had their favorite dish, and we ate them many times while we were in Kauai. We did not go upstairs to the fine dining, because we enjoyed the casual dining below.

We were able to watch the ships enter and leave their docks. We also did a lot of people watching and also watched the many windsurfers. Dukes was the most entertaining and fun place to dine. The food was superb.

Duke's Canoe Club

Duke's is a fine establishment for some great pub food in a festive atmosphere. You can either access Dukes from the beach or via the Outrigger hotel. The burgers are hearty and very tasty. Make sure to pick up a caesar's salad, it's not only a great deal but delicious. The drinks are reasonable if you choose to imbibe. It's also fun to watch the beach and pool activity via the thatched umbrellas. Free entertainment most afternoons around 4pm.

I’ve actually eaten at a number of Duke’s restaurants in Hawaii and in Southern California. The Canoe Club in Waikiki is by far my favorite location. This is due primarily to the locations and atmosphere of this one.

Duke’s Canoe Club is located is located right in the heart of Waikiki. You can actually walk right off the beach in to the bar. When we visited there was live music playing all day long and Duke’s was actually the center of attention, people spilling out from the bar on to the beach. All of this creates a fun beach party atmosphere during the day at Dukes. As the day turned to night the atmosphere turned a little more sedate, but still very fun.

In addition the fun atmosphere the food at Duke’s is fantastic. The menu features fresh seafood prepared in variety of local styles. Everything we had was excellent. I would recommend the mahimahi prepared with the macadamia nut crust.
