Harrah's Forest Buffet

The food was fair, but nowhere near what it should have been for the price. I would recommend finding a cheaper restaurant and using the money you saved for the casinos. We waited over an hour to get into this place, as it was first come first serve to be seated. Seriously, there are lots of better places to eat in Tahoe than this buffet.

What a view! You must get a window seat here! Come early for the line can be long and you want the window! You're on the 19th floor (I think) and you can see the whole South Lake area. The food is buffet-style with everything you can imagine -- great, wonderful food. Service great too. Come ready to eat -- it's a little pricey if you don't eat your fill. But don't leave South Lake without at least going up to see the view from here if you're not at the top of Heavenly with a better one.

The American River Cafe offers Harrah's quality food without the cost of the full buffet. I like everything I've had on the menu - the wonton soup, the BBQ sandwich, the burgers and full meal menu. We never seem to have room for dessert as the portions are so big.

The restaurant has good service and a cute decor with a real flowing river and water falls.
