Fantastic restaurant. Huge portions and special Island preparations of some dishes. We had a grilled mahi that was out of this world. We shared an appetizer and an entree, and it was plenty of food for us. The entree sizes are enough for two. Large selection of steaks and seafood. Selections change on a regular basis.

We got lucky--we did not have a reservation and were able to get a table because one of the women that worked at our hotel also worked at the restaurant. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. The place is lined with pictures of the people that supply all the food, from fishermen to farmers, which adds a nice touch.

This restaurant served some very good seafood and the atmosphere was fairly romantic. Everything is fresh and I enjoyed the lamb while my fiance enjoyed the ahi. Supposedly this was a very good restaurant by Big Island standards. I would characterize it as average by New York City dining standards. The only downside, we had to drive almost 45 minutes to get here from the Paauhau Plantation House where we were staying, but all in all we were glad we made the trip. However, don't do it if you are tired because the trip will put you to sleep at night (especially on a full stomach).
