Fun Place to Dine and Drink After Work

This is where a lot of hotel workers dine and drink after work, especially on Friday nights. Located at the intersection of highways 19 and 290 it will be on your right in an old-style green 2-story building. It has the ambiance and feel of Old Hawai'i. This restaurant is not imposing but instead laid-back and charming. They specialize in mixing the freshest fish with local produce. We always order their delicious Seared Island Poke and Calamari on their pupu menu. We also like their Asian Baby-back Ribs, Ginger Steamed Clams, Sashimi and my son likes their specialty pizzas. They serve a variety of tropical drinks like my favorite Pina Colada and Lava Flow. They also have imported beers and other tropical cocktails to go along with their pupu menu items. We like to come here for dinner but this is also a nice stop during the late afternoon or for an early dinner (2:30pm - 5:30pm). They are open daily from 7am - 11pm. Their happy hour is from 2:30pm - 5:30 pm. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I would recommend making reservations for dinner especially during the weekend because it can get very busy. They have wonderful views of Kawaiha'e Harbor so a great time to dine or to have a drink would be at sunset. This is a great place to come to if you want to eat at a nice restaurant that is in the lovely town of Kawaiha'e. It is a nice change of pace from dining at a crowded hotel restaurant.

The food was excellent although a little pricier than we initially expected. Both of the fish of the day dishes were excellent, as was the special, which was a teriyaki steak. There were many locals here (usually a sign of a good restaurant) and the service was quite good.
