The Hard Rock Café

Almost every popular city has a Hard Rock Café. Key West is a popular city so a Hard Rock Café is no exception in this tropical town. The Hard Rock Café is housed in a restored two-story Victorian house on Duval Street. The story about this house goes that this Victorian house is haunted. I don’t know if this is true; the Hard Rock employees reported many stories and evidence in the past of this haunted house. The Hard Rock Café is one of the places the Haunted Ghost tour visits every night.

Don’t be scary, they don’t bite… You can still eat here. We did and I didn’t notice any ghosts…

The formula of the Hard Rock Café is the same everywhere. The restaurant is filled with rock 'n roll memorabilia. I, personally, don’t pay much attention to the stuff on the walls. There are people who come to this place, just for the memorabilia of Madonna, George Michael, and the Rolling Stones. I’m not one of them. The atmosphere is better in Key West then other Hard Rock Café’s I’ve once visit. The beautiful patio overlooking Duval Street is the perfect place to have diner and to enjoy the people who walk by.

Let’s talk about the food. I like what they offer. The menu has a lot to choose from. You can keep it simple by ordering a burger or sandwich. But you can also order pasta, salmon steaks, and other barbecue meals.

My spouse’s favorite is the Pulled-Pork Sandwich. First it is hickory smoked then hand-pulled. He said it was very tender and the barbecue sauce did make it perfect. It comes with fries, ranch beans, and coleslaw.

I like the Ahi Tuna Steak Sandwich. It’s basted in a teriyaki sauce and then grilled. Topped with a pineapple and served on a dusted dun. It comes with fresh lemon mayo which is delicious and fries.

The people who work at the Hard Rock Café in Key West are very polite and friendly. We didn’t have to ask for refills. Sometimes it can be busy, so busy that you’ll have to wait to get a table. The music can be loud, but that’s the Hard Rock Café. If you don’t like that, go somewhere else for diner.

Okay, I've gotta confess, gourmet cuisine is wasted on me. But I can say one thing that isn't wasted is a fine steak and great burger! I mean, you might say I am a burger connoisseur!! Go on, you can say it, because predominantly all I eat are hamburgers. And along with the fantastic food and drink that Key West has to offer, I have to say the Hard Rock had bar none the best burger I've ever had.

Not only was it the best, but the wait staff was soo polite, funny, and engaging, maybe a lil' too engaging from my girlfriend's point of view, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I mean, they create this awesome hypermasculine, Hemingway-ish decor, and I felt as though I was on the Key in times gone past. The atmosphere was light and fun. You are constantly being waited upon by gorgeous ladies and kind gentlemen who have your every whim on their hearts. What more can you asks for than good conversation, great food, and reasonable prices? When I return to Key West, The Hard Rock will be my first stop, guaranteed.

It was great, one of the best for people-watching right on Duval. The food is, well, it's Hard Rock, with burgers and fries. As busy as it was, service was prompt and the servers were great. It would be a shame to miss the Hard Rock souvenir hut on the way out.

Good food, fun atmosphere! This was a great place to eat: good service, good eats, and lots of the things to look at that you'll find at most other Hard Rock Cafes in this restaurant chain. If you are looking for straight up American food and want to get away from the seafood and local cuisine, this is it!

The Hard Rock Café in Key West is actually a large Victorian house that has been completely redone into a restaurant. Rather odd seeing all that rock and roll paraphernalia in a 1900s setting. My friend and I dined at the Hard Rock for two reasons. We knew what type of food they serve and we know their prices.

We dined outside at a small table on the front porch overlooking Duval Street. Our waitress was really nice and always there to refill our ice teas. I hope we tipped her enough. We both had delicious grilled chicken sandwiches. We didn’t have much money when we went on this trip, and the Hard Rock was one of the few places we ate other than Taco Bell. It was nice to actually be waited on for a change. I’ve been to several Hard Rocks in the country (Chicago is excellent, Denver is excellent, Maui only OK) and this one was excellent.

The thing about places like the Hard Rock, for me anyway, is that when you’re low on cash and not sure about trying out a local restaurant, you can go into these places and know exactly what you’re going to get. After spending a few more days in Key West we did discover some cute local cafes, but when you’re new in town it’s nice to have something familiar to go to until your get your bearings.
