Keoki's Paradise, Kauai

We ate at Keoki's several times during our trip. The fish is top notch and is prepared in a variety of different ways. Yes, they have more than fish, but you can get a steak most anywhere else where you can't get this caliber of fish.

Eat in the bar. The atmosphere is better, me thinks. The restaurant is fine and all, but the bar area is more casual and warmer.

The 24 oz prime rib is a great deal for two to share with leftovers for late night snack. The mud pie is a perfect end to a perfect dining experience. The ambience is wonderful.

We went to Keoki's for lunch on our first day on the island. We had fish tacos and were very impressed with the food and fun "Hawaiian" atmosphere.

Great restaurant. Try the Macadamia Shrimp Dinner - excellent. If you do not like rice you can order smashed potatoes. We went to this restaurant twice. I ordered smashed potatoes 1 time and rice the next - both were outstanding. Embassy gives out free "Hula Pie" coupons. Save room for dessert because the Hula Pie is out of this world: Macadamian Nut Ice Cream with a Brownie Crust topped with whip cream and hot chocolate. Menu has lots to choose from. We got to sit outside in the lush landscaping - beautiful. Kids can order off the bar menu if they don't see anything they want on the dinner menu. Sodas were $2 with no refills but ice tea had free refills.

Keoki's serves seafood, steaks, American dishes, and those with a "local flair" also. Simply a wonderful place.

We LOVED this restaurant for both the food and the atmosphere. We happened upon it by accident as it is in a shopping center, but were glad we did. You enter this unique restaurant by walking over a bridge with water falls on either side that cascade into a pool at the bottom. The interior is open air (as are many of the restaurants in Hawaii). It appears to be a very large thatched bungalow, in a tropical setting of streams, pond, and vegetation, complete with tiki torches. On one side, separate from the "dining room" is a lounge/bar area; they had a very good live band when we were there for dinner. We had a table on the side that seemed as if we were on a deck over water, very romantic!

Keoki's Paradise is known for their fresh fish; but I went for the prime rib. Honestly, it was the best I ever had. The service was perfect. Our waiter didn't hover over us, but seemed to magically appear any time we needed something. I highly recommend this restaurant! They have a website with photos and menus, if you'd like to check them out: www.hulapie.com/keokis/index.html
