When I was a kid there was a Swenson's ice cream parlor in the Seattle area, and I loved going there for the fancy dipped cones (still a novelty twenty years ago) and gigantic scoops that were nearly double the size of what you'd get at Baskin & Robbins. The store in Seattle has long gone out of business, but the original location in San Francisco is still thriving, serving up cones to the lucky locals who are in the know. All their chocolates are rich and creamy, and the fruit sherberts are very tangy and loaded with juice. It's worth going a little bit out of your way for these fabulous frozen treats.
