Buca di Beppo

This is a family-style restaurant with large portions. It is great for large families and groups. All entrées serve two or more people, and everything is a la carte. The meatballs are heavenly and the size of a baseball. There are many pastas, pizzas, salads, and Italian main dish specialties. With a large group, it is fun to order a variety of entrees and have a little of everything. The decor is quite fun, and they even have a pope room you can reserve in advance. Or, if you are five people or less, you can eat at the kitchen table and watch them cook. (My children love to sit here.)

If you've never been to a Beppo's then you should be warned: take the whole gang plus anybody else you can muster up. Their deal is doing family style Italian food. This means that you order food for the table rather than individual entrees/salads. Going there with any less than four people would be a mistake. A small salad, small pasta, and single meat entree is enough to completely stuff four people (with leftovers) or feed six people proper.

The restaurant is located about a mile down the road from the entrance to Disneyland, along that particular strip of hotels on Harbor Blvd. Once again, go hungry. Go very hungry since you'll be swamped with food, and take your friends! It's a great social meal.
