We ate here during our holiday and to be honest we rather wish we hadn’t because although it was in a nice place and it was cheap enough, the food wasn’t that great.

The thing that drew us in was the fact that they do a set menu for around 8 euros per person, which includes a starter, a main course and a side dish. To be honest, even though it does sound too good to be true, it isn’t the cheapest we have ever had so we weren’t too worried about the quality. This was our first mistake. We had chicken and sweet corn soup to start which was tasty enough although it was clearer than usual. For main course we had sweet and sour chicken (the old favourite) and a sizzling beef dish accompanied by egg fried rice and noodles. The noodles were delicious and the rice was good, but the main courses were just far too gloopy for us. The sauces were so thick and really not particularly pleasant. In fact the sweet and sour sauce looked a bit green to be honest and we ended up leaving most of the food because it just wasn’t nice. My husband actually had a dodgy stomach immediately after the meal. I’m not one for apportioning blame, but it was a bit too coincidental to be honest.

The service was pretty good although it was the usual abruptness that comes with a language barrier. The food was brought quickly although there were no heaters on the table to keep the food warm, which we could have done with.

The restaurant is right on the harbour so we got good views over that which is always nice. The majority of the tables are outside although it is plastic garden type furniture. There are a few inside but the views and atmosphere are obviously much better outside.

The total bill came to 40 euros, which included a couple of beers, a bottle of wine and the two courses for both of us and a tip. Even though it was reasonably cheap I wouldn’t recommend it for obvious reasons. The food just wasn’t good enough to warrant a recommendation from me.
