We enjoyed a casual lunch atmosphere of vegetarian lasagna, in which the chef used his signature pesto sauce in lieu of traditional marinara. This type of restaurant has a limited amount of select dishes, as it truly is the "catch of the day" or that evening’s specialty. Their soups were killer, and we shared a very special Mediterranean-type salad. Prices are reasonable and the service is excellent.
The atmosphere is very Berkeley-like, with art items, as well as café attire (T-shirs, hats, etc), available for purchase. If it’s on the wall or on a shelf, it’s probably for sale - just ask. We love collecting little out-the-way place’s T-shirts, so you know we couldn’t leave without one. It’s a conversation-starter to say the least.
