La Placita

After arriving at La Placita, we went through an open eating area to the inside. The decor in the restaurant was black & white tiled floors, mexican artifacts in various arrangements throughout the restaurant. Floors were spit shiny clean and the restroom looked like it was brand new. If cleanliness truly is next to godliness than these folks are close to being in heaven.

We were greeted by several Mexican servers dressed in black pants and white shirts. We had three servers waiting on the eight of us. We ate the local Mexican fare , Ceasar Salad made tableside and enjoyed it all. We were not rushed through our meal.

The restaurant gave us complimentary drink from the bar and after dinner my sister in law and I had Mayan Coffees, made before our eyes. It was quite a procedure, where liquor and coffee and whipped cream were part of this wonderful beverage along with flames. You see they light the anise liquor they use in the coffee and pass it back and forth between two pitchers, when the whole stream is afire, they pour it into a glass while it is still burning. It was quite a delight.
