A Very Pleasant Experience

In researching restaurants and sites for our trip, I came along reviews for this restaurant and made sure to add it to "my favorites" for our trip. In a review, it said to be there when they open and that the wait could be a couple of hours long if you came at dinner time. With this in mind, we were at the restaurant a little before 5:00P.M. for dinner. When we arrived there were already several parties waiting patiently. The restaurant opened and all of us were seated with window views. Our server was very conscientious and checked on us several times throughtout our meal. We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes for starters. I had never had them and they were wonderful! I ordered the sampler platter. You have a choice of having the seafood fried, broiled, or braised. I asked for our servers suggestion and he said braised. I went with that and my Scallops, Shrimp, Oysters and fish were done perfectly. My husband ordered the Scallops and Shrimp dinner. It also was cooked perfectly. The dinner came with soup or salad and a choice of baked potato, french fries, or coleslaw. We didn't have room for dessert, so we left full and satisfied. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I hadn't been to Hudson's in a while after being disappointed a few years back. I am happy that I have them another try. I discovered that lots had changed since my last visit. There was a new wine list with fantastic, yet reasonable selections and all the specials looked delicious. Our dining experience was perfect from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. The service was outstanding. I felt as though she was 4 steps ahead of us at all times. The food was marvelous! The blackened shrimp with a green pepper cream sauce special was great and my wife’s Shrimp Pinkie was unbelievable! I’m sorry I waited so long to give them another shot. I will be back soon and would recommend other to give it another try if they haven’t been in a while!

Hudson’s restaurant was well worth the trip over to the north end of the island. The food was excellent. The menu offered a great variety of seafood as well as other main courses of pasta, meats, etc., soups and appetizers. Their special cocktail "Drunken Arnold Palmer" was great. It is wonderful and refreshing. The atmosphere was nice and casual. The entire restaurant sits right on the dock and you can see the water from almost everywhere in the restaurant. We took a group of people and all ordered cocktails, wine, appetizers, entrees and desserts. Everything was great and it was extremely reasonable!

Hudson’s is a terrific place for lunch. Their lunch menu isn’t as extensive as the dinner menu, but they offer a large variety of choices. Blackened shrimp or oysters sandwiches, salads, steamed shrimp, burgers, you name it. The portions are generous and the service is friendly and quick. I am always interested in fast service, especially at lunch when I don’t always have tons of time to kill. The daytime view from the restaurant is fantastic. It rests right on the docks with a great view of the water. My lunch was great and I would recommend this as a lunch spot to anyone.

Such an amazing experience. The staff is extremely friendly and the restaurant is cozy and clean. I recommend sitting in the oyster bar to start...a couple oysters and a cocktail and then sitting down at a table for dinner. My husband and I had a nice bottle of wine --great wine selection and watched the sunset over the water. It was wonderful.
The food was equally as amazing as the view. We had the pan blackened scallops with a thai chili glaze for an app. It was delicious! The stuffed shrimp was fantastic and my husband's grouper was the freshest I've ever tasted!
I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone! We will be back!
