Tumtah

This was our favorite place to eat while at the Mayan Palace. Tumtah is located near the beach and is inside a Tiki Hut-type structure. We ate breakfast and dinner here several times, and each meal was very good.

Tumtah Restaurant

The Tumtah Restaurant on the ground of the Mayan is truly wonderful. You can eat on the patio by the water or inside under the teepee-like ceiling. We had the seafood pizza one night. It was great! Don't miss the grilled shrimp or the wood-smoked marinated chicked. Prices ranged from about US$14 to about US$24 for a steak. Drinks were average priced. They have wonder mariachi singers every night. The poolside restaurant serves lunch every day. I thought they were more expensive than Tumtah. The Mexican buffet they had one night was not planned very well and the food there was nothing to brag about, but the show they put on was GREAT!! All in all, the Tumtah was one of the best places we ate at all week.
