Food is exotic, but not too far outside the norm. Best dining experience is at the Cooking Place, a counter with chairs where you can interact with the cooking staff. The chefs prepared a tasting menu for two of some of the appetizers (including tamales, a lentil and phyllo dish, a lamb appetizer, and a duck and pork "firecracker"), and my husband and I shared an entree (braised short ribs in a tamarind glaze). We were too full for dessert, so we went back another night to order from the dessert menu and instead ended up with a flat bread cooked in their brick oven. This is a great dining experience. We love the cooking place, but the dining room, with its changing lights, can be quite romantic. Add an African beer or wine, and it really is an exotic evening out, not like something you can get back home.

Jiko at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a real treat. The food was absolutely delicious, with great service, wonderful atmospere, fine wines, etc. This was our second visit to Jiko, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. My favorite that I have gotten both times is there lamb shank served over couscous. There were four people in our party, each dining on a different entry, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything.

The appetizers were also exceptional. Our server (Lorenzo) was from Italy and provided us with outstanding service. The atmosphere provided a wonderful, relaxing dining experience.
