This was our favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. The food is delicious, and for the price it is truly amazing. The best dish was called Rice From the Oven (with chicken, or "met kip"). This is a baked concoction of rice, chicken, carrots, potatoes, and other veggies in a creamy, cheesy sort of sauce. Words cannot do it justice. You must go to Amsterdam, eat at Eat Mode every day, and order Rice From the Oven.

Asian style canteen bistro serving cheap (around 6-10 euros) but very good quality Japanese, Chinese, & Thai food. I ordered the Thai seafood stew, which was a gorgeous mixture of shellfish, fresh fish, & vegetables. There was also enough of a choice to keep the vegetarian I was travelling with happy as well. Bang in the middle of the red light district, perfect to quell any hunger pains without draining your pocket of money you could be spending elsewhere.
