Cinderella's Royal Table - Character Breakfast

  • July 18, 2002
  • Rated 4 of 5 by Barber E. Lane from Lake Forest, California
We arrived at Cinderella's Castle in time for a beautifully laid out buffet breakfast. We were escorted up the winding staircase to the second level of the castle where we greeted by Disney hosts/hostesses dressed in Renaissance gowns and pirate styled outfits. The Once Upon A Time character breakfast is held in a high-ceiled hall beautifully decorated in blues and purples much look like Cinderella's castle. The star of the morning was, of course, Cinderella who leisurely talked with young and young-at-heart guests at each table without a hint of time pressure. She was joined by her fellow Disney heroines, about 7-8 in all. The costumed Disney cast members were amazing in how well they "stayed in character" no matter how many ways the older folks in the group tryed to make them slip up by asking present day questions. They were simply marvelous. Observing the little children in the hall, they seemed in total awe of being able to talk to and their picture taken with their favorite Princess or character. We chose the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet for two reasons: it was a good way to start the day without worries of having to get out of a line or get all the way across the park to make a later lunch or dinner reservation and because it was considerably less costly for a family of four. They do serve salad and sandwiches at midday and dinner selections of favorites of prime rib, seafoods, and chicken. Dinner runs $20 to $35 and breakfast was about $15 for adults and $8 for children. Everyone who has visited the Magic Kingdom at any of the Disney theme parks around the world wants to be able to go up into the castle that holds the central location within the park. This is your chance to do just that and be a guest of Cinderella for a meal. The stained glass windows in the castle dining hall are beautiful, the food was ample and very well prepared, and the atmosphere was priceless. Though there were no small children in our group, we all agreed that it was a very enjoyable experience and well worth the price. The thing I remember most about the experience was how we did not feel rushed in any way and the pleasant staff and their efficiency in keeping the glasses filled and desire to meet any need. As we descended the stairway waiting for us, and every guest, was the Fairy Godmother waiting to grant our wish. It was a magical way to start another day in the Magic Kingdom. This is a very popular event and it's a one time seating in the large but limited dining hall. I recommend you call for reservations when you begin your Disney World planning since it books up early.

This was one of the many highlights of our trip. We did the Alladin Character Breakfast. All of the characters from the movie come out and greet the guests during the course of the meal and take pictures with the guests.

Cinderella's Royal Table - Character Breakfast

Our breakfast in the castle was magical and delicious! When we entered the castle, Aladdin was in the waiting area (usually the Fairy Godmother is). He was really great. We were seated and my daughter just fell in love the whole atmosphere. One by one we saw Cinderella, Jasmine, Belle, Alice, and Peter Pan. My son would not take pictures with any the princesses, but wanted to take a picture with Peter Pan. When we mentioned this to Peter Pan, he said it was because princesses smell bad. My son would repeat all week that Peter Pan says princesses smell bad. All of the characters were good, but Peter Pan and Alice were great!!

I found breakfast to be a little hectic for me as I was constantly getting the autograph books ready and taking pictures. Despite this, it was our best breakfast. I thought the food was among the better breakfasts. The meal is served family style, and you just request more food when you are done with your inital portion. They had eggs, bacon, sausage and really good potatoes and french toast. The atmosphere here can't be beat. This was one of my daughter's favorite things we did all week.

Note that this is very hard to get reservations for. You have to call exactly 60 days in advance at 7:00 EST time or get very lucky.
