After stuffing yourself with fried shrimp, fried crawfish, fried beignets and too many other fried treats, you might consider giving your heart a break at this healthy (and tasty) restaurant. Located between Decatur and Chatres on Frenchmen in the Faubourg Marigny area, the restaurant has received critical acclaim despite its healthy fare.

The restaurant has a number of healthy options and includes vegan offerings. If you don't like tofu, you can still find something good to eat here including pizzas, salads and other entrees. You can also order beer and wine. Weekend brunch is another option if you're looking to redeem yourself (eggs are served).

You can look at their website at Old Dog New Trick.

This little cafe on the outskirts of the French Quarter makes for great dining. The food is healthy -- beans, grains, pitas, and fish for the meat eaters. Vegans are accomdated with ease. Just tell them you are vegan and your waiter will fix you right up. Try the ben burger in any incarnation. Also, the "pumpkin brownie" is divine (tasted more like spice cake to me, but it was good)! And all desserts are vegan. Vegetarians normally starve in New Orleans, but go here to fill up for a night on the town.
