Worth the 15 min drive from the the beaches (Isle of Palms and Sullivans Island). This has got to be the BEST seafood in and around the Charleston area. The desserts are to die for and if you like a place that still has Coca Cola in a glass bottle this is the place for you. Try the She Crab soup! Reasonable prices for todays expanding food and gas prices! Dinner and DESSERT for two was under $50 and we had PLENTY of food. Try the fried pickles for an appetizer or enjoy the complimentary hush puppies. Good home cooking and seafood

Seewee Restaurant

After leaving the boat show, we met relatives who were starving. We had taken longer at the boat show than they had anticipated, not being the boat lover my husband is. They had decided upon a place, and we drove north. We were beginning to think that we were going to drive all the way to Georgetown or Myrtle Beach. In fact, it wasn't that long a drive. When we arrived at the SeeWee Restaurant, I regreted so much that I had left my camera at their house. Rustic is a good word, I think.
Walking in, we saw a picture of Jimmy Carter smiling. I wondered if he had eaten there. Throughout the restaurant there are souvenirs of the past or perhaps historic artifacts. The menu says that history is at the doorstep. The SeeWee Indians, the American Revolution, and the War between the States were important in this area. The present building was a general store in the 1920s. The shelving is old and the floors are worn. I had to go outside the restaurant to find the restroom which was quite clean.
While the atmosphere was intriguing, the food was very good. My husband's shrimp was the best meal ordered. Most of our desserts were homemade. Prices were very reasonable. We had come at the end of the lunch period and didn't have to wait for a table or for our food. The dining experience was one more part of a nearly perfect day.
