New York, New York
April 18, 2002
This was first recommended to me by a couple who stayed at Sidney by the Sea and went to celebrate a wedding anniversary at Deep Cove Chalet. They had a beautiful table outdoors and were served the most creative and sumptuous French cuisine. They were shocked to find this caliber of cooking in the middle of Vancouver Island. They later found out that the chef and owner puts great pride into his restaurant and is a constant innovator. Using the freshest ingredients available, the food is definitely French in a luxurious (like truffle soup and escorgots) but in a lighter Pacific Northwest version.
I have been here once and I was not disappointed. Since then, I have refered friends and family there and they all came away with the same conclusions: Money well spent for wonderful food and a truly amazing view.
