This is a classic grill, right out of the 50's, with standard eggs and potatoes breakfasts, and hamburger lunches. It's inexpensive by New Orleans standards, the coffee is good, and it's a nice break from the street scene and all the cajun restaurants nearby. Poppy's is open 24 hours for all of us late night party people who get the munchies. Check out the collection of magazine covers from old "True Detective" and "Secret Confessions" posted on the walls.

Poppy's Grill is related to the Clover Grill and is every bit as wonderful. It has the same tacky mauve/pink decor, but offers more seating, both at the counter or at tables. The food is amazing. They serve the best hash browns I have every had in my entire life. Their omlettes are huge and wonderful, grilled pork chops are superb and the burgers are fantastic. Sitting at the counter is fun because you can watch the cook make everything (dont be put off by the amount of butter used, you're on vacation.) The waitstaff isn't as silly here as they are at the Clover Grill, but the food is just as great and it has the same exact menu.
