New Orleans School of Cooking

The food was some of the best I have eaten. The restaurant teaches you to cook the Cajun cuisine, and when the chef is done, you get to eat the meal he cooked. It was great.

Not just a dining experience but a culinary experience! You not only enjoy some of the best cajun dishes such as gumbo, jambalaya, bread pudding and southern pralines...you get to learn how to prepare them at home! The class includes a full lunch complete with beer (hey, you're in New Orleans)!

Our chef / teacher was animated and entertaining as he prepared the dishes over about a three hour class. We sat with a group of about 8 people per table, in a very fun and friendly environment.

On your way out there is a great store there where you can purchase spices and other culinarily cajun creations!

This is a three-hour cooking lesson. You learn to cook a variety of local foods, which you then get to eat. You do not get to participate in the cooking, but you can take the recipes home with you. It was a lot of fun and we also learned a lot of history about New Orleans it's food.
