The Saigon Grill, with its sushi bar, is always very busy, and usually you have to wait in line, but it moves along pretty quickly. Once you are seated, your waiter is very accommodating, and I recommend starting out with their great appetizers and some hot tea. The spring rolls are wonderful.
All your favorites are on the menu, including Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Korean, but it is mainly Vietnamese with sushi, dim sum, and a bar. I can't even begin to suggest anything, as it has all been excellent, right down to their natural ice cream served for one of their desserts.
If you have a movie to go to or even show (it's about a half-hour taxi ride to the Theater District), the Saigon Grill is pretty quick. The best thing about the Saigon Grill is that it has free delivery in the Upper West Side area. On many nights, we just order in and enjoy it just as much.

The Saigon Grill is a good neighborhood staple. There is one on the Upper West Side and one on the Upper East Side. It is an easy, low-key place to go that pleases a variety of people. When my dad, a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy, was in town for a visit, we went to Saigon Grill. His reluctance was met with juicy, grilled chunks of beef. He was delighted to find such good meat at a Vietnamese restaurant.

My favorite dish is the beef bun. The noodles are room-temperature rice vermicelli with skewered beef on top. The Nuoc Cham sauce is the key to adding flavor to this dish.

If fried chicken and mashed potatoes are American comfort food, come to Saigon Grill for home-style Vietnamese cooking. Everything is superb. The pho soups are my favorite. I, as well as The New York Times, believe that Saigon Grill makes the best barbeque ribs in the city; the plum barbeque sauce hits the spot. It doesn't matter what time of day you go there: you'll have to wait. There is also a sushi bar that is pretty good. For a fun, bustling neighborhood eatery, come to Saigon Grill.
