Every time I return to the Village, I thank the powers that be that Pommes Frites is still open. This hole-in-the-wall establishment serves up the best Belgian fries I have ever had.
You order a cone of fries (in a variety of sizes) and you can order as many accompaniments as you wish. To me, the accompaniments are the best part. They range from the standard (ketchup) to the exotic (curry mayo). There are about 20 different sauces available for your fries. I usually share a cone with a friend and pick out 5 different sauces to share. You take your meal over to the low wooden tables, which have cupholders for your fries. It's usually quite packed in here and I always feel lucky to get a seat, usually squeezed in against other customers.
Yes, I'm salivating even now.
