Twin Anchors Restaurant and Tavern

Open since 1932, this Chicago favorite has served its delicious ribs to the likes of Frank Sinatra; it was also the set of the 1999 film Return to Me, starring David Duchovny and Minnie Driver. The menu is nothing remarkable: onion rings, baked beans, chili, and burgers. But the ribs are amazing, which keep upwards of 300 people a night storming through this nautical-themed Chicago favorite.

Twin Anchors is a popular little neighborhood rib place. The cozy leather booths and marine-themed decor made this old town neighborhood institution the restaurant featured in the movie Return to Me, starring Chicago native Bonnie Hunt and Mini Driver.

It is most famous for their fabulous pork ribs. The "zesty" sauce is a must. It is not spicy, more tangy. There are other menu choices, like steaks, seafood, burgers, and salads. The BBQ pork sandwich is excellent, and there is even a Soy Natra sandwich, a soy-based sloppy joe.

Service is great and homey, and there is a great bar boasting the coldest beer in town. Since the wait can sometimes be over an hour, that is a very good thing.
