What a great place to take the family! The whole restaurant is designed and decorated to look like an actual rainforest -- animals, lightning and an occasional rain shower included! They have animatronic animals all over the entire place. Great food to go along with all the free entertainment as well! You just never know what's going to shake a tree or pop out of the bushes at you.

Rainforest Cafe

This is a great place to take the kids!! The decor is really great! It's made to look like the rainforest and has lots of trees, animals and fish around it it. Two very large aquariums greet you at the door along with a large crocodile that likes to eat coins. Upstairs is the dining room and again it looks as if you've stepped into the rainforest. The food is tasty, but a little pricy for our family (we're really cheap), but we had hamburgers w/fries and the kids each had a kid meal for $32 not too bad. The menu had a sampling of everything, salads, burgers, sandwiches, entrees, chicken, wraps, stir-fry and vegetarian burgers. My plate was full of food, and the kid's meal was three mini hamburgers with fries and our big eater didn't finish the whole thing. Dessert is also on the menu and kid dessert is $1.49.

The experience, decor and food was worth the money. We really enjoyed this dinner.

You might want to arrive early so as not to stand in line. We arrived about 5:30 and by the time we left, there was a line waiting for tables. Valet parking is available for $9 per hour and parking is scarce.

I enjoy truly unique dining experiences, and Rainforest Cafe surely qualifies as that. When we asked for a table, there was a queue, so we were assigned a name of some animal, that I can't quite remember now. Then we heard 'Elephant, party of four', 'Tiger, party of two, and when our animal was up it was our turn. It's really quite humorous. Then we were taken up a level to a dining area.

Atmosphere of this place is to put mildly... strange, but bizzare would be a more fitting description. Fake palms, elephants, gorillas and various wildcats inhabit the area (they're all stuffed robots, capable of movement and making sounds so don't be surprised). Restaurant is filled with rainbow colored lights, and tables are covered with rather weird looking tablecloths. Every few minutes the restaurant puts on sounds of a tropical storm, waterfalls or some other jungle event. It's all rather amazing, although it takes you away from your food a bit.

The food itself is really rather good. Being a steak man myself, I devoured a piece of meat the size of a cow itself (it's my slick way of pointing out the huge portion size in this place), which was absolutely fantastic (maybe they carved up one their famous Cows on Parade). Menu is very varied: from asian-fusion dishes like Thai burritos, to seafood, steak and all the chicken dishes. I wish I had something sensible add about the desserts, but we simply didn't have any room left for it.

If you're looking for something quiet and romantic, stay FAR away. This place is more like Disneyland, and I suppose it is a big draw with kids and teens, and... crazy adults willing to be amused.
