I had to take the time to update the review of this place. We got the grilled prawns. They tasted a bit gummy like they were frozen and not fresh. There were 6 and they were paired up and skewered in a 69 shape. The rice pilaf was horrible, salty, instant rice. Steamed carrots and broccoli were overdone. It was served with red and white sauces for dipping and a lemon. My son likes shrimp and took one bite and would not eat anymore. The things they seem to do well are the clam chowder (thick, like Boudine Bakery) and the sourdough bread. They also serve real butter. I guess if you like deep-fried seafood, then this might be the place for you. I like fresh seafood that is grilled so you can really taste the flavor. I won't go back and can't recommend it.

Little "atmosphere", since the restaurant is just stuck into the fish market. But the lack of ambience is more than made up for with the VERY fresh seafood. Just point to whatever is in their case, and they'll make it up for you. Don't miss their pine nut and raisin coleslaw - out of this world. I ate here three times in 10 days - it was so fresh and so inexpensive. My favorite meal was the fried prawns -- they are enormous and so fresh, I couldn't believe it. I didn't need lemons, cocktail sauce, or anything else ... the flavor was so fresh and crisp. Prices are extremely reasonable, and service is good. I had the clam chowder at one of my meals, and thought it was so-so - lots of clam meat but the soup itself was somewhat gloppy. But any disappointment I felt dissapated as I dove into my fried prawns...!

If you're like us and like delicious, fresh fish, then you should visit this little restaurant just blocks from Cannery Row. True, they don't have a view of the Bay, but they do have very fresh fish, cooked to order and served quick. Great for a quick lunch.
