Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant is located in Downtown Disney, a small strip of high-end retail stores, movie theaters and other eateries that make up a few city blocks. (Downtown Disney also includes Cirque de Soleil and Pleasure Island.) Across from the Virgin Record Megastore, Puck’s proved extremely popular due to the crowd of people waiting to get in. Since we had a movie to catch, we avoided the line by dining in the bar.
With its ultra-hip modern geometric décor, the restaurant comes across as very pretentious. They also charge $13 for a Caesar salad. My husband and I split a chicken cobb salad and our guests split a garlic chicken pasta dish. Then we all had Key Lime pie for dessert. Everything was delicious, but the prices still seemed rather high. We also ordered hot chocolate, but their steam milk machine broke down so they couldn’t serve us any. What, they couldn’t heat up some milk in a pan? Good food, but slow service and high prices won’t get me back there anytime soon.
