Description: We had an Advanced Dining Reservation at Tonys Town Square Restaurant over the busy Christmas period. We arrived a few minutes before our allotted time but had to wait over 20 minutes to be seated. The waiting area was very busy and it was quite difficult to hear the names being called.
The table we were given was in the central section of the restaurant which was fairly dark and we were right by the entrance to the kitchen and the coffee machine so it was quite busy and a bit noisy but the place was quite busy so there didn’t appear to be any more tables for four vacant. I felt that the chairs seemed to be terribly low, I am not very tall and I felt like a child with my chin on the table!
Our server appeared quickly and bought our drinks immediately and then seemed to be hassling us for an order. We hadn’t even had time to read the menu properly so we asked him for a few more minutes. He was back again very quickly to take our order, literally within about 90 seconds.
My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs and my daughter and I had Chicken Parmigiana. My son ordered a pizza but asked if he could have it without onions, the server said no, it was all premixed but didn’t give my son to think whether he wanted to change his order, he just walked off. The food arrived quite quickly.
The spaghetti was short cut which came as a surprise but otherwise my husband and son thought their meals were ok. My daughter and I both thought our meal lacked enough sauce and with the pasta being quite bland neither of us finished our plates.
My son eats quite slowly but the server shoved the dessert menus at us whilst he was still eating and then came back again almost immediately to take the order. My son was still eating so I said we would decide what we wanted when he had finished.
By this time the server was really annoying me. The place had emptied out a lot and I do not like being rushed whilst I am dining. To cap it the entire restaurant was absolutely freezing. It was a chilly day and we ended up putting our fleeces back on whilst we were eating and felt thoroughly chilled.
Once my son had finished we decided not to have desserts as there was nothing warm on the menu and the thought of eating a cold dessert whilst I was so chilly was rather unwelcome.
We will certainly never be returning to Tonys. The service was positively unpleasant and the food was very mediocre. The general atmosphere was poor and there are so many better places to eat at WDW.
