Chef Norman Van Aken is a Florida legend. His first restaurant, Norman’s, in Coral Gables, is consistently ranked one of the best restaurants in Florida—and across the country. His Orlando outpost is not much different, offering distinctly Floridian food, locally sourced with Caribbean, Latin, and Asian influences.

This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at. The presentation is above par the staff is friendly and the food a perfect blend.

I was glad I was traveling for work since this is a very pricey restaurant but well worth it. Our final tab for three including tip was $97 per person. They do have prix fixe available ($55) per person and a tasting menu for ($85) per person.

The yucca shrimp was extremely good jumbo shrimp stuffed with yucca and breaded and fried served on a bed of "cabbage salad" The house salad was great field greens, blue cheese and a great vinaigrette dressing. For entrees, we all went with a fish dish. The yellowtail was moist with fresh asparagus cooked to perfection. The striped bass was crispy and moist and the taste exploded in your mouth and was served over mashed potatoes and the freshest green peas. The mango sorbet was ok, not my favorite, but the chocolate tart was really good. The wine list is reasonable the prices ranging from $34 to several hundred dollars.

The restaurant is great and well worth its setting in within the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Just keep in mind that such high standards have a high price tag. We were a party of three and the tab came to $90 per person.
