Description: General
This restaurant in downtown near Best Western Grand Hotel Arion and is a wok restaurant.
We immediately went in here to make a reservation for that evening because we wanted to go to the cinema.
Fortunately there was a table free at 17.00 (at 20.00 we had gone). No sooner said than done, at the stroke of 17.00 hours we arrived with a big appetite at this restaurant. According to a note on the door there was a special offer in the months from February to March-April.
An arrangement for € 18.95, unlimited food, including drinks (NL distilled, all non alcoholic beverages, coffee, tea) without time limit. For children up to twelve years it was 10 euro.
Opening times
Hours 12.00 to 15.00 (lunch)
and from 17.00 - 22.00, regular price 17.50 EUR per person excluding drinks.
Reception
The reception was not that good. We were not told where we could hang up our jackets, so we had to hang our jackets at the back of our chairs. Explaining the wok itself was not given, there was no written explanation, such a paper placemat or a menu card. Pity, because every restaurant has its own "rules", so for example at one restaurant you can order your soup and in the other restaurant you have to fetch it yourself.
Anyway, we started ourself, and after a brief look at the available soups (tomato and shark fin soup), we decided to skip.
Woks
For vegetarians there is a variety of vegetables, including:
5 different types of mushrooms, green beans, carrots, paprika, pick-soi, onion, leek, cauliflower, broccoli, bean sprouts, snow peas, I saw further includes chicken, pork, beef and other beef, three kinds of shrimp, squid, surimi.
There are signs for the wok so you can fill with a selection from this collection of food, so go to the buffet where two chefs are not too happy waiting for you. Your food is short "al dente" cooked and then fried with a sauce of your choice, the choice is between:
Sweet and sour sauce, garlic, curry sauce, soy sauce, tausisaus, oyster sauce and a few sauces. There is indicated with pepper sauce or whether mild, spicy or extra spicy is.
Teppan-Yaki
Besides the wok is also the possibility of teppan-yaki (Japanese grill plate) to use. On the side of the teppan-yaki a choice can be made from zucchini and onion slices, mushrooms, beef, pork, chicken and prawns. The meat pieces are too big for teppan-yaki and everything came to a similar, definitely not bad, but monotonous, taste of the grill plate.
Hot Buffet
You can at the "hot" buffet complete your food with fried rice, noodles, white rice, noodles or Chinese noodles. Furthermore, are standard-pangang babi, sate (sauce) (not spicy), fried banana, egg rolls and a few other meats. There are fries (were cold) and four or five types of snacks. There was some sushi (five species counted) and salad.
My experience
First I tried the curry sauce, which had the + sign so it should be spicy and definitely very good flavor but it was not spicy as much to impress me. The fried rice and Chinese noodles were certainly good hot and tasty. My partner was enjoying the garlic, which I then tried, and which, unlike the indicator, was much sharper in taste than my curry sauce. But I like the garlic taste was sharp and also perfectly fine, not overwhelming but very clearly the strong base of this sauce.
Regarding this wok part, it would be nice to have the "bragging" signs to grant smaller size because it is different, which is difficult to assess what portion you wish for yourself, and so sometimes you have food waste. My partner has time to sign a teppan-yaki daring, which I've eaten the zucchini and onion, as I said, large pieces (as teppan-yaki should be very small).
For dessert there was a choice of five types of ice: lawyer, walnuts, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. There was fruit (canned), including: melon, peach, pineapple. Two sauces: strawberry and chocolate and cream buses themselves freely to decorate your ice cream or fruit. I went for the chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce, definitely recommended!
