Truly the best pizza in the world!! Traditional Chicago stye deep dish pizza done to perfection. Each piece weighs about a pound, and you have all the toppings in the world to choose from. Also don't forget to order the cheese garlic bread for starters. A must do while in the Chicago area.

You CANNOT visit Chicago and NOT have deep dish pizza! Gino''s East pizza is what Chicago deep dish is all about!!

The restaurant is a fun, laid-back place. You can feel free to pull out a marker and sign the walls along with the other millions of signatures.

Everything was awesome. The pizza takes about 30 minutes to make, so be sure to order some salads or appetizers. If you don''t want pizza they have other great Italian foods to choose from. The atmosphere is really laid back and is a perfect place for people of all ages.

Gino's East is officially and unofficially the best pizza you can get in the US! Okay, so I marked a pizza restaurant as Italian cuisine, so sue me! (It is Italian after all) The place is always packed. The restaurant has two levels: we ate in the underground, which is basically a graffiti hole. All the walls, tables and benches have stuff written all over them and you can add your own inscriptions if you so desire. The restaurant has a web-site if you're interested in checking it out.

Now to food... The restaurant serves...PIZZA, but also good soups, salads and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. At first when you look at the menu, the pizzas seem very expensive: abot $10 for small, $20 and up for medium and large. But when the waiter brings the pizza to the table you'll understand why: they are HUGE! These are Chicago style, thick crust pizza which weight several pounds each. That's what I call eating (They are really good cold as well!) In fact, to explain how big these pizzas are: the waitress told us that usually a couple orders a small pizza to share. We ordered a medium... and took half of it back to the hotel.

Another thing worth trying on the menu is their Minestrone soup. Spicy, hot, a perfect companion to a thick slice of pizza.

Don’t let the size of their pies, with oddly yellow bread fool you. Gino’s East is what Chicago-style deep dish pizza is all about. Two slices will leave you full for the rest of the day. But if you’re a glutton for punishment, also order any one of their delicious appetizers.

But don’t go to Gino’s just for the food (as if that weren’t reason enough!) Take a pen, marker, or liquid paper, and leave your mark. The dimly lit cavernous restaurant is covered from floor to ceiling with patron’s declarations of love, anarchy, and other graffiti. The bathrooms are the only place that have been spared.

Go at odd hours—2 or 3 in the afternoon. Otherwise, be prepared to wait a minimum of 45 minutes before getting a table.
