Unless you are beating down the doors when they open expect at least a 15 minute wait. The later in the day you get there the worse it gets, up to 3 hours, I've been told.
The entrees start around $9 and go up to $20 the cheaper ones are the strage ones (at least to me) like gizzards, liver, ect. There is a burger and chicken for those afraid of new things. The sides are brought around by staff and they will refill your plate as often as you ask. The rolls are great, but you must have one trown to you is you want one, and the molasses on the roll makes it even better so get some while it's hot.
The atmosphere is basically like a Cracker Barrel, down home and a bit southern, so it gets a little loud, more so when the rolls come around, and the wait staff will trat you like are a guest in their home and invite you to stay even though your done.
This is actually a little south of Springfield but not a long drive, and on the way if you are headed to Branson.

There are some restaurants you go to for the overall experience... not just the food. Lamberts is definitely in that category! Be sure to have some extra time because you will probably have a 45-60 minute wait to be seated for dinner. That is how popular this "southern cooking" restaurant is.

The atmosphere is almost like a carnival inside with a huge collection of nostalgic signs, an electric train running on tracks above your head and very lively servers.

Lamberts is known as the "home of throwed rolls" and that is exactly what they do. Instead of serving rolls to you on a tray, they are thrown across the dining room to customers who want these delicious treats fresh from the oven. This creates a bit of chaos... and a whole lot of people yelling "throw it here".... but it really is a fun place.

The menu at Lamberts comes from the deep south with entrées such as: fried chicken, pork chops, chicken fried steak, fied catfish, ham and more. In addition to your meal Lamberts also has servers giving out "pass arounds" such as fried Okra. Lamberts is probably not the healthiest place you will ever dine at... but you will not go hungry!

The food is not gourmet and this is not a quiet place for a romantic date, but the "carnival" atmosphere can be a fun place to take friends from out of town.

The wait was about 90 minutes. That part was extremely boring and we had to wait in the summer heat. It didn't take long at all to get the food once we ordered. Everyone is extremely friendly! The best part is getting the rolls thrown at you! My kids loved it! It is a tad on the expensive side, but it's all in good fun once.

I like it here a lot. It's casual dining that is really good. It reminds me of Cracker Barrel, but nicer. I recommend that everyone to go and try it once, and once you go, you'll be hooked. One thing, though, as their saying goes, watch for the flying rolls! (You'll see if you go there.)

This place is AWESOME! We had a blast! Lambert's is known as the "Home of the Throwed Rolls". They come around every 10 minutes or so and literally throw you your rolls! They also have servers who bring you fried okra, black-eyed peas, fried potatoes and onions, and macaroni with tomatoes. I'm not sure if those options change or not. You will not walk away hungry from here and if you do, it's your own fault! Great atmosphere and fun! Expect the same type of menu choices as what you would have at like Cracker Barrel. Oh, and this place is not in Branson. It's actually just south of Springfield so hit it on your way to or from Branson to the North.
