Character Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner

There are two different character breakfast that we enjoy EVERYTIME.
First is Animal Kindoms's "restaurantasauras". This is not just for kids (although they are plentiful), but the buffet is wonderful and a great value. Yes, the characters come to your table, and in my case I run to them, and get in trouble. But if you wait you'll get all the pictures you need.

The other is "The Crystal Palace". It's a little more expensive than Animal Kingdom and more adult oriented. Chip and Dale are the highlights here, along with Eyeore and Pooh. The food is wonderful again, and it's a little hard to eat because you're watching and laughing too hard. Chip and Dale are comical, can't say that enough. This one's a must!!

We celebrated New Year's Eve at Chef's Mickey. We have eaten here many times and it is our favorite character dining experience. I recommend reservations through WDW Dining. A good idea to call atleast 3 months before your trip. Goodfy meets you while you while waiting to be set at your table. This is a fun time to get pictures. Once at the table, the following characters visit seperately: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Chip, & Dale. The characters allow time for pictures and special time with children. This makes the whole dinner/breakfast worthwhile.

The food is excellent. It is served buffet style which includes just about anyting anyone would want to eat - seafood, prime rib, chicken fingers, etc. Be sure to try the dessert section as it has lots of Mickey's favorites.

One other special feature about this restaurant at the Contemporary Resort is the "celebration" time with the characters. The restaurant plays music and the characters dance, sing and wave napkins around in the air along with the restaurant patrons.

We have also been to Chef Mickey's for breakfast and was also impressed with the food and entertainment quality. This is our family's favorite thing to do on our many trips to WDW!

We had a character dinner at Epcot just as a last minute idea. The restaurant had room and we went for it. The restaurant rotated slowly and the scenery around us was always changing. The up close and personal attention from Chip and Dale, Goofy and Mickey was wonderful. The food was nothing special however.

If you have small children, this is a must! I have never seen our 3-year-old so excited as when Mickey Mouse came to our table to visit him while he was eating! We went to the character dinner at the Contemporary Resort. The dinner is set up buffet style, and four of the Disney characters (Mickey, Minnie, Chip, and Dale) wander around the restaurant visiting each of the tables while you're eating. Goofy and Donald Duck were also there at the front of the restaurant to greet you when you arrived. All of the kids were in heaven. The buffet offered a variety of food, ranging from prime rib to seafood pasta, all of which was delicious, as well as a children's buffet with pizza and mac-and-cheese. There was also an amazing dessert buffet with just about any kind of dessert you can think of.

Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at The Grand Floridian was great. The food was good and there was a wide variety for all tastes. There is waitstaff for each table who provides juice, coffee, tea, etc. There was an omelet station, never ending supply of danish, bagels and bread, eggs, bacon, sausage, strawberry soup (yes you read right), french toast, Mickey pancakes and just about everthing else you could imagine. There were five characters who walked around to each table and greeted everyone, took pictures and signed autographs. I believe these characters change occasionally, but you can see who is appearing in the hall prior to entering. The Grand Floridian is beautiful. We parked there and used the monorail to go to Epcot after breakfast so we didn't have to keep moving our car. At a good price, you will get a great breakfast with wonderful ambience.
