Benjamin's Calabash

The earlier you can go, the better. Long lines form after about 6:30pm. They have huge 170-item buffet: fried, broiled, and steamed shrimp, fried oysters and scallops, fried flounder, broiled tuna steaks, smoked salmon, baked salmon, deviled crab, crab cakes, broiled mahimahi, catfish, broiled scallops, crabmeat filo, and, of course, all-you-can-eat Alaskan snow-crab legs.

If you have a non-seafood lover in your group, not to worry! They have a huge selection of beef, chicken, barbecue, pastas, fresh vegetables, and much more! They also have a huge salad bar, fresh homemade soups, and a large in-house bakery that prepares fresh breads and fantastic desserts.

Original Benjamin's Seafood Buffet

There is no dish that this wonderful buffet lacks! It has everything, from Southern food to the local seafood favorites. There is a carving station that offers steak, prime rib, turkey, ham, roast beef, etc. I loved the pasta bar that offered a variety of pasta that could be combined with chicken or seafood and different spices and sauces. The chef at the pasta bar could cook up any combination imaginable just for you. There was an endless bar of vegetables cooked every way possible. If you weren't too stuffed from all the delicious food, there was a countless number of different sweet desserts! I have tried many buffets at Myrtle Beach, and Original Benjamin's is by far the best on the beach.

They offer coupons for $3 and $4 off the buffet price for early birds.

There is also a great website, www.restaurant.com, that sells gift certificates for participating restaurants in all states. They have a $25 gift certificate for the Original Benjamin's at Myrtle Beach that only costs $10. It is a great deal. I have purchased this particular certificate two times so far. It is like getting an adult buffet free! Sometimes they run specials when you can purchase the gift certificates for even less than $10. It is a great website worth checking out.

Best seafood buffet I've ever been to. Located on the coastal waterway. The most seafood entrees you could imagine, plus some of your usual fare. Was recommended by one of the locals there as being the best seafood buffet in Myrtle Beach and I believe she was right.

The Original Benjamin's Calabash

This restaurant is great. The food was good except for the crawfish. It seemed like it was up there too long. But the salmon was excellent and the other dishes were good as well. Great desserts and salads.

You must go hungry to this place because there is so much to choose from. Also they have nice artifacts displayed in the restaurant such as an old scuba diving uniform, a half of a bus, and other items from ships and boats. There is also a great aquarium in there with beautiful fish.
