A pub and café located a short walk from Karl Johan street, Sara is mostly known for its clientele of young people interested in politics and environmentalism. Lately the younger guests have gone to other places and more adults have filled the ranks, but it is still a place for well-informed discussions about the hope of socialism and what to do about the greenhouse effect. Or a beer and a meal in peace and quiet.

The music comes in various styles, but is seldom so loud as to inhibit conversation. Tables take up most of the space, so there is no room for a dance floor. Very reasonably priced Italian, Mexican and Turkish-style food is served at the tables by rather likeable staff, as well as at the bar, along with a reasonable selection of beers and other drinks.
