Where Power Lunches Take Place
Durant's is a Phoenix Institution. You enter through the kitchen with a hearty welcome from the staff. Once inside it is all red flock decor right out of 1955. Politicians, movie stars, and lawyers all come here to discretely schmooze day and night. The big red leather booths make it private.
Martinis are big enough for two. This is an old fashioned surf and turf kind of place. The meal starts with a big loaf of french bread covered in olive oil and baked garlic.
The filet m wife had was thick and tender enough she really did not need a steak knife. My Prime rib was perfect. The baked russet potato was huge.
The Deserts are also big enough to share.
Service is attentive and professional. We went for our anniversary and the wait staff remembered. Bring the credit card, it won't be cheap. But it will be worth it.
