Ming Court

Located on International Drive across the street from the Pointe Orlando shopping center, Ming Court restaurant is a popular spot for many. Since 1989, Ming Court has been serving up some of the most delicious food to locals and visitors from around the world. The menu features an array of grill and wok fired dishes, including dim sum and sushi. Experience a real treat from the moment you walk into the entryway crowned by engraved sea-green Chinese tiles with glass-walled terrace rooms overlooking a lotus pond filled with colorful koi. The main hall has an open court for nightly live Oriental folk music. We really enjoy dining here, and the children have a variety of menus to choose from. This award winning restaurant opens for lunch daily 11am to 2:30pm and dinner nightly 4:30pm to 11:30pm Visit www.ming-court.com.

Recommendation: Request a dim-sum menu upon seating and choose from selections like shrimp ravioli or chicken and rice cooked in a lotus leaf. Or begin with a variety of appetizers such as pot stickers, crispy wontons stuffed with vegetables and cream cheese, and shiitake mushrooms topped with sauteed scallions. The entrees include a deep-fried chicken breast served with a delicate lemon-tangerine sauce.

My kids, ages 2 and 4, are already Chinese Food snobs. They liked the Chow Mein and the chicken dishes. So, they gave this restaurant two thumbs up. It was a little expensive but very good. The waiter was not very excited to be assigned to the table with 2 kids. They didn't even throw food on the floor and were really good. They love Chinese food, so they pretty much scarf good food. He was just not kid friendly.
They do have a koi pond outside that we frequented, while taking turns eating. They open the door for you while entering and leaving and stopped doing it for us after the second time of visiting the pond. They had some music in the bar area as we were leaving. It was pretty mellow, cultural music. The female player was pretty friendly, since I talked with her in the restroom, while changing the toddler.
After the meal, they give you fortune cookies dipped in chocolate, which were really good. My son can't eat dairy, so I had to ask the waiter for a plain one, so he wouldn't feel deprived. Of course, the waiter rolled his eyes, but came back with a few plain ones after a good 5 minutes. I think he was hoping we would just leave.

Dim Sum at its best and a sushi bar at the entrance! After walking past the Oriental gardens and ponds you are ready for an excellent lunch or dinner. Everything was prepared perfectly and served with finese by authentic servers. We drive two hours for the experience.
