Bahama Breeze

• Our last night we found a wonderful restaurant called Bahama Breeze.
• We arrived around 8:30pm and waited 20 minutes for a table.
• The wait staff was very helpful in making suggestions, and the service was very good.
• Our dinner consisted of:
• Tostones con pollo - homefried plantains topped with spiced chicken, mushrooms and cheese and lightly broiled ($7.75)
• Alan's Calypso shrimp pasta sautéed with garlic and scallions, Creole spices, and a touch of cream tossed with linguine pasta ($11.45)
• Jerk chicken pasta -Jamaican style marinated chicken with fresh asparagus and mushrooms in a cream sauce over bowtie pasta ($9.95)
• Fire roasted jerk shrimp-fired in a stone hearth oven with spicy Jamaican jerk seasoning, butter, and beer, served with warm Cuban bread ($15.45)
• The atmosphere in the dining area was very nice with fountains and other tropical foliage surrounding most tables to make it more intimate and easy to talk to each other.
• We were all adults, but we saw families with children.
• It’s a place that can accommodate everyone, and yet be a very nice Caribbean dining experience.

It has good service and excellent food for a corporate chain. I had the salmon and she had the prawns appetizer and soup. Neither of us was disappointed. And as a coincidental note, the hostess was the daughter of one of the concierges at the HGVC.

Bahama Breeze, Orlando is just a short hop from Downtown Disney on International Drive.

There is a large open-air, covered patio/tiki bar area where you can wait for your table around large fire pits. The menu has some great Caribbean choices, and the atmosphere is festive and lively. It is a great place for the young, hip, and hungry to enjoy the warm Orlando evenings.

This restaurant is within walking distance of the Vistana Resort, and the food is excellent. It is usually very busy, so you could wait 45 minutes to get a table if you have not made a reservation. The food is wonderful and worth waiting for. Try the Onion Stack as a starter, but be warned that this is enough for two or three people. I usually have the Chicken Kebabs, which are very nice, and my wife often has the Salmon Pasta, which she loves.

Call 15 minutes before you arrive and they will put your name on a preferred list. If it's cool, you can wait outside around a huge circular fireplace and have a drink. The food is excellent for a chain. Try the Jerk Chicken Pasta. It was excellent, as was the Tilapia on a bed of greens and a tortilla at the bottom. We all loved it!

It's also very pretty inside. We were all adults, but we saw families with children. It's a place that can accommodate everyone, and yet also be a very nice dining experience.
