Absolutely Horrible. We paid a Ungodly amount of money for food and service we could have received at a fast food joint. We left this establishment feeling quite taken. We came with high expectations. It was like a horrible joke.
Next time in SLC, at the Little America, we will know... don't listen to the folks at the hotel... they told us we would be "blown away," we were... with total disappointment.

I was excited to visit my friends in Sundance this year, talk about the upcoming film festival in Park City, and tag along to a relative's wedding at an exclusive restaurant in Salt Lake. My friends promised an unbelievable experience. They were right - the wedding we enjoyed was spectacular. Every nuance of the restaurant was exploited to make this a very special evening. Management had servers flowing through the guests, every possible aspect was delivered flawlessly. The food was excellent, and I commented on how timely events kept moving. Cars were called in record time. It was fantastic, and I would prefer to get married here, if I preferred to get married again!

Unfortunately, I returned three nights later with a guest I had flown in from Southern California to enjoy a romantic dinner. I promised everything that I had witnessed at the wedding, and did I mention that I contribute to several east coast papers as a food critic? It's my job and my love!

All of the vows entered into by LaCaille for the previous wedding were broken at my dinner engagement. It was like finding an oasis in the desert and realizing it was only a mirage.
Our server, a very attractive woman with an abundant bosom, was quickly changed with a smartalick serf in period costume. We waited for 1/2 hour before requesting some bread and a drink. Apparently, fine dining is reserved only for the ambience, not the actual dining experience. Although we were engrossed with each other's company, we could not help but notice the constant banter of the staff, with little regard for the patrons. The adjacent table started to discuss their disappointment with us as well. When we requested that we see a manager, a juvenile young man in a wrinkled suit appeared saying he was the "owner" and "what do you need"? We were shocked and were forced to respond with " we need to be treated like guests dining in your restaurant. " He left saying that he would see what he could do. Apparently, getting two servers to work equally as slow and deliver your food over a 3.5 hour timeframe is what he "did" for us.
Where was the service and food I had seen before? Where was management on the night of what could have been a great romantic evening? I think that LaCaille may have decided that it is only a place fit for a wedding... but not for dinner.
In my many years of evaluating food and service I can say this - get married at LaCaille, or get invited as a guest at one for their weddings, but avoid making promises to others about how well they will enjoy their dining experience. People will think you are out of touch with reality. However, in fairness, you are taken away by the ambience, luckily so... you won't notice the poor, poor service and the lackluster food!

We had Thanksgiving at this restaurant and were very disappointed. The place is really pretty... and was jamming, so as we entered, we thought "this is the place"... boy oh, boy were we wrong! After about a 40 minute wait for our "reserved" table, we were seated in a cramped area in the corner... and it was freezing! We got our drinks and rolls after another 15 minutes, then came our cold, dry, disgusting turkey and potatoe pile (family style) after another 25 minutes. We commented, and paid and left unhappy... but the hotel still had their buffet going when we got back.... so, it worked out for our appetites... not our pocketbook, however, this place charged us 140 bucks, and it felt like we got held up.
Oh well... the Skiing today (Friday) was incredible! Deer Valley has got it together!

One of the worst eating experiences of my life. Food was bland, or over seasoned, or cold. Service was inattentive at best. None cared... except the groundskeepers, the gardens are wonderful. Too bad. I won't be back.

La Caille is visually very beautiful. The restaurant and the area surrounding look like what I would expect a small town in France to look like. The food is very good, and the service is great. The servers just do their job without bugging the diners. The servers wear costumes simmilar to those of French people of the later years. The women's chests are slightly exposed, but no more than you would see in a movie taking place in the 1700s.

The food is very rich. Everything I have had there has some sort of sauce that tastes wonderful. The portions are small, but they do fill you up. My recommendation for this restaurant is to sit in the Garden Room, have the steak for your main meal, and order the bananas foster for dessert.

The outside of the restaurant is also very beautiful. I would suggest a walk around the grounds. There are many animals, such as goats, mini horses, and peacocks. My favorite times of year to visit this place are late autumn, because of the beautiful trees that line the drive up, and just before Christmas, because the whole outside is decked out in Christmas lights. Even if you do not want to eat here, I would recomend driving up there just before Christmas to see the lights!
