This beautiful restaurant is located a few miles up the canyon, just 20 minutes outside of Salt Lake City. The curving drive up the mountain is gorgeous, with big pines and beautiful scenery. Once you get there, there is a sound of cascading water, and when you look to see what it is, an old water wheel is turning, forming a wondrous waterfall. This restaurant is in an old log mansion, built by a steel man for his wife, and soon as you walk into the restaurant, you feel like you belong there. There is a huge burning fireplace to welcome you and warm you up after a long day of skiing or roaming the city of Salt Lake.
While this restaurant has won many awards, namely, Most Romantic, it does not feel stuffy or overbearing. While waiting for our table, we enjoyed a glass of wine and had good conversations, all while soaking up the warm flames of the fire on a comfortable sofa. The seating of the restaurant is very romantic, and we managed to get the perfect spot by the window, which looked out onto many pine trees and the mountains. I had the fillet mignon for an entree, and it was absolutely one of the best I have ever had, cooked to perfection, with a wonderful compliment of garlic mashed potatoes. The service was outstanding, and Log Haven is one of the finest restaurants I have ever been to. The setting it is in will never leave my memory. I would highly recommend this restaurant for those who love good food and for those who just love...
