We went for lunch right after our arrival to Charleston. We were excited since we love the movie Forrest Gump!
We got a garlic butter shrimp appetizer which came with bread for dipping. This was hands down the best shrimp I've had in a long time.
For my meal, I decided to get an appetizer combo. I wanted to get a taste of different items from the menu. Everything was delicious, but I was definitely not able to finish my meal.
My husband decided on a burger. He really enjoyed his burger as well.
One of our favorite things about this restaurant were the "Run Forrest Run" and "Stop Forrest Stop" signs on our table. The run sign told the server that we were happy and didn't need anything. The stop sign told the server that we needed refills, napkins, etc. When a customer puts the stop sign up, any server may stop by and assist you.
Great service! This is a must if visiting the Charleston area :)

We decided to truly enjoy our last full day in Charleston. We stopped at the Bubba Gump Restaurant for a pre-dinner treat. We ordered the chocolate cake, thinking that the three of us could easily polish it off. We were wrong. The chocolate cake that was delivered to our table was large enough to feed an army!

It was FUN! Many pictures were taken in this restaurant, with a low-key atmosphere and a neat way to get your host or hostess to come to your table is so cool! They even have a guy dressed up in a LARGE SHRIMP outfit--need I say more when I say "a FUN atmosphere"?

I was a bit disappointed. Being a real Forrest Gump fan, I loved the shop and memorabilia, but the food was just average "Applebee's"-type fare and was a little overpriced. I would have to say that it's all around just average.

Scrumptious! Our group (young children and their parents) chose from fried shrimp, Cheeseburgers, fish and chips, and chicken tenders. Everyone said that their meal was good. The only thing that may have been a problem was everyone who ordered coffee received it lukewarm or cold. We all had to ask for another cup of coffee(?). Other than that, our meals were delicious, and the staff was great! We will definitely return. One of our parents lost her cell phone there, and when we called back an hour or two later, no one had seen or could find the phone. That was a little disappointing, especially since this parent is a doctor and she really needed her cell phone! The students loved it when the waiters played a "Forrest Gump" trivia game. Many of them won great prizes. We didn't have to turn our car tags to "Run Forrest Run" or "Stop Forrest Stop" because the waiters were right there the entire time, and we wanted for nothing. A special treat was the fact that the staff had printed up special menus for us with the name of our school group on top as a heading! Wow! That was very impressive! Our reserved tables were upstairs, and we were given the "red carpet" treatment. The staff treated us as if we were the only ones in the restaurant. This was amazing, considering the fact that the place was packed! It was wonderful!
