Mi Casa Restaurant & Cantina

Our favorite restaurant in Cabo. We went twice in only 4 nights! With our many trips to Mexico, this was some of the finest local cuisine we have tasted.

The menu of Mexican specialties is all you need to see. I generally don't order a Mole. I know it's the greatest Mexican dish in the world (!!!!), but I usually find the flavor so deep as to almost be suffocating.

But the "Manchamanteles" sounded great and tasted even better—Mole, pork, chicken and fruit (!!!!!). It was lighter than most moles I've had, but no less flavorful (if that makes any sense).

My wife got an astonishing fresh Sea Bass one night, and a whole local lobster the second night (yes, we went twice!). On the second visit, I ordered an old stand-by that usually demonstrates the skill of the chef - Steak Tampiquena (skirt steak with Mexican trimmings). Also delicious!

Strolling mariachi's plus a sketch artists, and VERY eclectic furnishings make Mi Case the place YOU MUST TRY in Cabo San Lucas.

Oh, here's the Mexican speciality section of their menu:

El Manchamanteles de Morelia—Famous mole of chile guajillo & chile ancho with chicken & pork and lots fruit. Very tasty!

El Mole Poblano - Masterpiece of Mexican cuisine! Festful dish of chicken in a rich dark mole sauce of peppers, seed 7 spices ( approx. 35 ingredients) A feast for your palate!

El Chile en Nogada -A specialty dish to celebrate independence day. Poblano pepper stuffed with sauteed meats, served with a fresh walnut cream sauce. One Mexico's finest

La Cochinita Pibil -Famous dish from Yucatan. Shredded pork oven roasted in achiote served with spicy marinated red onions, called (Xnipec).

Las Carnitas de Michoacan -Succulent oven roasted pork, served with special beans, guacamole, cilantro, & onions

Los Tamales Bandera - Steamed tamales in colors of the flag.. Red: Filled with chicken in mole, green: shredded pork with tomatillo sauce; white: cheese & poblano strips

Muy Sabrosa!

This charming restaurant was my favorite! Lots of atmosphere...mismatched Mexican style chairs in the bar area, tables with one leg too short, great murals.

The dining area is a covered, brick paved patio...watch your step! Mariachi band played, we sang, we ate, we enjoyed! Great food, reasonable prices.

This is not your typical Mexican restaurant! This one specializes in gourmet Aztec and Yucatan food. I recommend a beef dish called Chimole. While it may look like the black stuff that sticks to your barbeque grill, the taste is amazing! You'll be surprised how fast you devour it! We tried many of the menu selections, including appetizers and weren't disappointed with any of them. The seating is partial outdoor patia with stair-stepped tiers of tables. The back walls surrounding the area are painted with beautiful murals.

This is a great restaurant in the town of Cabo San Lucas. When you walk inside and look up, you will notice immediately that there is no roof. . . instead, you dine underneath the stars. There is a charming mariachi band that will serenade you if you like or you can simply enjoy the music from afar.

We had the sopas for our appetizer; for entrees, I had enchiladas verde and he had chicken with mole sauce. All were great. If you want authentic Mexican fare in a wonderful atmosphere, this is your place.

We asked the bellhop at our hotel where the best Mexican restaurant in Cabo was. He put us in a cab and told the driver "Mi Casa." I was a little wary since I am a vegeterian and normally do not like spicy Mexican foods. Well, upon walking into Mi Casa, my eyes lit up.

There are no restaurants like it in America. It was absolutely breathtaking. You walk through the inside to the back, which is half open and half under a canopy. There are beautiful trees and decorations everywhere. I could hardly concentrate on my menu or my company since I was surveying the ambience so intently.

The food was also EXCELLENT. I loved everything I had and do did everyone else I was eating with. Some people were dressed very casually and some were more dressed-up. Both groups felt comfortable. This is a great place to go with a group or for a romantic dinner for two. The margaritas are humongous and yummy! Like all restaurants in Cabo, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Mi Casa far exceeded my expectations!
