The food here is delicious, and that's the main reason you come. It's also affordable, and there is no fancy setting. It almost reminded me of a university cafeteria with the way the tables and chairs were set up. There are plenty of tourists who come here but also plenty of locals. The waiter we had was very friendly, and we got a drink at the end of our meal. I can't remember the name of it right now, but we bought some later and it kind of tastes like licorice. We also had our first dish of bananas and rice here, which, while it sounds crazy, is very good.

El Moro is a family-owned restaurant. We go there at least once every time we are on the island. If you see Helser, tell him we sent you! Good, decent food and fantastic horchata, give it a sip!!!

This restaurant is a favorite of divers, and is inland a ways. The taxi drivers know where to go though so you won't have trouble getting there.
The food is great! Lime soup like you've never had, great Mole' and seafood - get the Chicken Tampica or the Shrimp on a Wire (a whole line of fresh prawns grilled with garlic, cilantro, etc. -yum!). There were 6 of us, so we got to try quite few things and every dish was better than its predecessor! I don't think you can go wrong here.
