The Rose and Crown

This was a typical English-style pub, with all the appropraite menu items you would expect to find. The food was mostly good, and the people-watching outside our tableside window was entertaining. We learned that there was live music in the evenings, but as we were there for lunch, we missed out on this opportunity. Waitstaff were a mix of friendly and standoff-ish, but nothing too brutal.

Right in the center of Banff, the Rose and Crown is a favorite for locals and visitors. The menu is good, offering typical Canadian and American fare, and is good value for money.

Throughout the day and early evening, it is family-oriented--but as the pub usually has bands/groups playing towards the latter part of the week, it can get quite loud!

The Rose and Crown is my "hang out and chill" spot in Banff...when I want to be around people. It usually has a friendly pubby atmosphere, mostly younger alternative types like snowboarders. There is usually a fire blazing on the hearth in this upstairs bar where you can order a pint of Canadian beer and settle down to some live music. Fun place, but gets JAM PACKED in summer or during holidays.
