The St. James Gate is owned by Guinness, a company that knows a thing or two about Irish pubs. There is barely a wait at this well-known Irish pub. Designed to resemble a traditional draught house, the pub offers an extensive menu of bar meals to accompany its beers and ales. Halibut fish and chips are a specialty, as are traditional meat pies and sandwiches. The Irish chips are scrumptious! Full meals are available as well. It offers a wide variety of local and imported cigars and beers. The waitresses are nice and helpful. There is live music nightly and the place is always packed and full of atmosphere.

I visit the Banff/Lake Louis area as often as possible. This is a pub the locals recommended after spending a day in the great outdoors. It was EXACTLY what we were seeking. Great food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices for DELICIOUS food!
