The Best Stop on the River Walk

The Best Stop on the River Walk

Hard not to stop at a place calling itself a Texas Bistro with the wonderful smell of mesquite grilling surround it. Boudro's falls somewhere between a really good bistro – and a great steakhouse, and you are bound to find that a lunch or dinner here is to be savored. This is a place that will provide you some of the best Texan and southwestern U.S. specialties that you will find in the state itself, with each and every dish seeming to be even better than the last one that arrived.
Relax and take your choice in three different seating areas – alongside the river, outside next to the restaurant – or inside (particularly at lunch time in the heat). Go ahead and expect a line if your arriving around dinner time – but the wait was not that long for an outside table.
A friend of mine had recommended me going and trying their made before your eyes guacamole, with the implication of that it would be the best I have had – and that I would finish it before I started my meal – even if the food was in front of me. She was right – it was excellent as were the chips served with it, and we finished it before touching our other food.
The steak and blackened prime rib are Boudros big draw – but if you are looking for something under 20 dollars – don’t pass over the vegetarian enchiladas which were delicious! The other item that may well be the best pick is the mesquite grilled stuffed quail with wild mushrooms, roasted corn, dried apricot, apples and hot poblanos served on vegetables and roasted potatoes. This is a Texas dining experience to sit back and just enjoy.
Boudro's can be either an ideal spot for intimate lunches or for large party dinners. Lunch will run about 10-12. Dinner – 20-40.

Here you have good ambience inside or by the river. The food is good southwestern cuisine for a good price. I put $10-20 in the price range, because you have to have a margarita!
