Alden's

Description

This restaurant manages to retain a warmth beyond other examples of 'modern-Conranesque' restaurants. It has become well renowned in a short period of time for serving imaginative, modern Irish cuisine, using the best of local produce. Steamed mussels in white wine, garlic and parsley, roast fillet of sea bass and garlic mash, wild boar sausage or perhaps crispy duck confit give you an idea of the dishes to expect. The menu changes regularly. Set lunches start from around £14, set dinners from around £16. At both times of the day an extensive à la carte menu is available. For wine buffs, there's a choice of 14 house wines ranging from £12-£17. A visit to Alden's also comes recommended by Bridgestone, Michelin, the Tipperary Guide and The Taste of Ulster.
