We recently went to Brennecke's Beach Broiler and we were not to impresses. The food was very bland and a little pricy. The Restaurant itself does have a really great view and is located near Poipu Beach. It isnt horrible and it isnt wonderful.

We had a great experience at Brenneke's. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating (we took our 2-year-old with us). The prices are high but well worth it. The view is great, right across from Poipu Beach and the sunset was absolutely stunning. I recommend having the BBQ shrimp skewers.

Brennecke's Beach Broiler

Brennecke's Beach Broiler is located across the street from Brennecke's Beach, hence its name. The actual restaurant is located on the second floor. It serves mostly burgers and seafood. It is very casual, as you can attend in you beach wear.

Downstairs there is a small snack shop. Here you can get traditional Hawaiian shave ice. They offer a wide variety of flavors, including pineapple, passion fruit, cherry, watermelon, and coconut. You can choose up to three flavors per shave ice. My favorite combination was pineapple and passion fruit, and my brother's was cherry and watermelon. Something I found very unique is that you can have ice cream put on the bottom of the shaved ice, though it may melt before you get to it, as I know my shaved ice was melting fast outside. A very Hawaiian ice-cream choice would be macadamia nut.

Also, there is a deli downstairs where you can get sandwiches to eat at the beach, maybe with a shave ice for dessert.

Fabulous views overlooking the beach park, priced right (for Hawaii)! The best is to go at 4pm and enjoy a pupu platter and the winding up of the afternoon scene of the beach, but evenings are cool too and crowded, so get a reservation!

Brenneke's is upstairs, across from Poipu Beach park. I've heard they've been slipping lately, which is too bad. Their open-air upstairs dining area has a nice view of the beach and the activities, and some people believe they have the best Mai-Tais on the island. We happen to believe they have the second-best Mai-Tais on the island. I can recommend the veggie quesadillas and the ceviche. Nice place to take a break and people-watch.
