Cyclops is the best kept secret brunch spot. My ex and I discovered it when we had to wait for a table at Macrina, which is across the street. We were super hungry and decided to try Cyclops. We loved it! The food is a bit unusual and always great. The service is sometimes a bit slow (especially at night), mostly when they are understaffed. When they are fully staffed, I can get out of there in under an hour for brunch.I mostly go there for the carbs, but the Migas are great, as well as the omelets and biscuits and gravy (though you don't feel much like moving after a heavy meal of B&G). My favorites are the buttermilk pancakes (I've rarely had pancakes so light) and the mango coconut french toast. Yum!The place itself is very fun to eat at. It has got the industrial funky thing going, with art for sale as well as the standards (Boy George frame poster). For a fun spot to sit, head to the bar area where there is this awesome round booth. Very cozy for a lazy Sunday morning. If you're really going for lazy, they don't skimp on the champagne in their mimosas, served in a tall water glass. You'll be ready to lounge the rest of the day after one of these! Now, if you're headed here for dinner, the atmosphere is a bit less casual, but still very neighborhoody. Sit at the bar and chat with the people next to you, or grab a table, but be wary of slower service. Every item I've had on the menu for dinner has been fabulous, though I often do the old standby of the pork barbecue. For drinks, they have some interesting wines, lately with two Tempranillos on the menu—these are sweeter, less tanniny reds from Spain. Not something you find many places with a limited wine list. Of course they have a full bar and cater to the yuppies as well as the cheap beer crowd (PBR on tap).
