A landmark! Great and creative Northwest cuisine. Great atmosphere! Downstairs is a bit more formal and upstairs is nice and casual. Get in early to eat on the deck and watch an amazing sunset over the surrounding mountains.

Ray's Cafe is situated on top of it's fancier sibling, Ray's Boathouse. Up here, the prices are more reasonable and the dishes are simpler. If you are dining around sunset, be sure to ask for a table outside. When it gets chilly, the staff quickly distribute blankets. The view of the harbor at sunset is spetacular. Also, don't miss out on the raspberry white chocolate cheesecake.

We found this institution driving around after seeing the Ballard Locks. It's on a picturesque waterfront overlooking the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. We promptly stopped by for lunch and were not disappointed. The seafood was fresh and the service good. We sat outside on the patio and had a grand panoramic view. There was a slight breeze and boats coming and going through the side to the Locks. A very scenic spot and a perfect place for lunch.
